Program Manager

Zia Engineering and Environmental Consultants, LLC is seeking an energetic Program Manager to lead a variety of environmental engineering, compliance, permitting, cultural and NEPA projects for federal and commercial clients.  The position will require management of interdisciplinary projects and technical staff including, budgets, schedules, safety and quality control management, marketing, and leading a team of engineers and scientists in performing environmental and regulatory services in accordance with local, state and federal regulations. 

Minimum Required Training for this position includes, but is not necessary limited to:

• B.S. (Environmental, or Engineering)
• Professional registration preferred
• Minimum of 5-10 years of combined federal/commercial environmental and management experience, possess strong work behaviors and work ethic
• Strong writing, verbal communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
• Ability to contribute to business development, proposal writing and marketing of Zia environmental services
• Lead, coach and mentor junior staff
• Proven client management and business development skills
• Must be a US Citizen have or be capable of maintaining a security clearance and in possession of a valid driver's license

Successful candidate shall have a minimum of fifteen years proven experience in water and wastewater treatment system design. Senior Engineer serves in a lead role to direct the design team in all aspects of system design and assumes the position of project manager on major water and wastewater system design projects. Successful candidate must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of process, mechanical systems, instrumentation and controls and regulatory requirements. Senior engineer must possess excellent written and oral communication skills to respond to proposals, manage project teams and correspond with clients and funding/regulatory agencies.  

Minimum Required Training for this position includes, but is not necessary limited to:

1-    PE license in any state of the union with ability to obtain reciprocity in New Mexico and other states within one year

2-    Fifteen years of experience in designing water and wastewater treatment systems with progressively responsible charge of projects. At least five years of the said experience should be in responsible charge after licensure as PE.

3-    Undergraduate degree in Civil or Chemical engineering from a reputable university is a prerequisite. Graduate degree in environmental engineering with emphasis in water wastewater treatment is preferred.
