Business Development Specialist (BDS)

Zia Engineering & Environmental Consultants, LLC has an opening for a Business Development Specialist (BDS) in its corporate office in Las Cruces, New Mexico. This position reports to the Vice President of Business Development. This position requires occasional out of town travel. The successful candidate shall possess the following qualifications and skills:

  1. A degree in one of the following majors: Marketing & Business Management, Communication, English, Journalism, or a related field. Graduate degree is preferred. Demonstrated understanding of environmental sciences and engineering is desirable.

Environmental Engineer/Scientist

Zia Engineering and Environmental Consultants, LLC is seeking multiple energetic entry to mid level Civil or Environmental Engineers/Scientists with 0-6 years of experience in support of challenging environmental activities in our Yuma Proving Ground or White Sands Missile Range, NM offices. The position offers the opportunity to work in multiple environmental fields and provide significant environmental experience in a short time with an opportunity for long term employment. The position will require ability to take direction from government personnel and senior Zia engineers and scientists in the implementation of regulatory programs, remedial investigations, remediation efforts or implementation of other environmental regulation compliance programs.


Applicant must have a minimum of bachelor degree in an environmental science or engineering. Demonstration of requisite skills (especially technical writing), good work performance, in an environmental science related field are required. Higher level of education may be substituted for experience. The position requires a willingness to be involved with development and implementation of investigatory and remediation efforts, development and production of environmental compliance documentation and support of required environmental compliance activities. Candidates shall be available for extended work days (up to 10-12 hours on an infrequent basis), for multiple days/weeks based on Zia's needs, must have successfully completed or be able to complete the 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER) training and must be in good physical condition (able to lift at least 50 lbs.), pass a physical examination, be in possession of a valid driver's license and a US citizen. The successful candidate may be required to acquire a security clearance up to and including secret.

Environmental Scientist/Planner/Archeologist

Zia Engineering and Environmental Consultants, LLC is seeking an Environmental Scientist, Planner, or Archeologist to provide National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) support for White Sands Missile Range Test Center and Yuma Proving Ground operations. Candidate must demonstrate knowledge or experience in the development and preparation of various NEPA documents. Duties will include coordination with test customers, project research, report preparation, and working with an interdisciplinary team of professionals to analyze environmental effects of project actions and facilitate test activities. Minimum educational requirements include a Bachelors degree in a Natural or Environmental Science, Anthropology, or Engineering. Masters degree and GIS experience preferred but not required. Candidate must have excellent report preparation and project management skills. Additional duties may include work associated with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). Candidate must complete the 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER) training and be in good physical condition, pass a physical examination, be in possession of a valid driver's license and a US citizen. IT Support/Coordinator

Zia Engineering and Environmental Consultants, LLC is seeking a Computer (IT/IS) developer for our Yuma Proving Ground, AZ location. Position will require Web application development as well as routine Hardware and Software assistance. Familiarity with databases necessary and SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 required. Knowledge of ASP.Net, C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, Visual Studio, Windows Server 2003, and IIS is preferred, but not required. Experience with IMR, Government IT Security a plus. Safety Managers and Technicians

Zia Engineering and Environmental Consultants, LLC is seeking Safety Managers and Technicians for positions at Las Cruces and/or Sierra County. Duties include development, maintenance, and implementation of all aspects of a safety and risk management program, compliance and safety inspections / audits, accident investigations, monitoring of administrative and engineering controls, establish safety programs (PPE, Lockout/tag out, confined space), and maintain site specific safety training programs.


Required experience for all positions are a minimum of two years safety experience (additional experience may be substituted for education). Minimum Qualification for manager are B.A. /B.S. (Safety, Environmental, Engineering preferred), Preferred additional qualifications, VPP experience, 40 hr HAZWOPER, 30 hour OSHA General Industry, CHMM, CSP, RAD II, Ammunition / Explosives Training. Civil Engineer – Ames, Iowa

Zia Engineering and Environmental Consultants, LLC is a entry to mid level Civil or Environmental Engineer with 0-6 years of experience in support of challenging environmental activities in our Ames, Iowa office. The position offers the opportunity to assist municipal and private clients in multiple environmental fields achieve and maintain environmental compliance.  Typical projects will involve obtaining environmental permits for an industry, assisting with maintaining compliance with environmental regulations, performing investigative studies, preparing engineering reports, engineering design, and daily interactions with clients and regulators. The selected engineer will be assigned existing clients with the intent of managing projects and making periodical visits to the client’s facilities.  Some travel should be expected within Iowa and neighboring states. 

 

The duties of the selected candidate will include preparation of engineering documents regarding industrial wastewater, air emissions, storm water management, and other reports and permit applications.  The position will require an understanding of environmental regulations and how they impact various types of industries, permitting processes for states and federal permits, and the ability to build and maintain a strong rapport with clients and governmental agencies.  Other projects will most likely involve wetlands and water resources, environmental impact studies and reports, asbestos and lead paint investigations, and site design.

 

Applicant must have a minimum of bachelor degree in an environmental, civil, or chemical, engineering. Civil Technician II

Qualified candidate shall have a minimum of three (3) years of proven experience (after completion of an associate degree in drafting) or five (5) years of working experience in drafting principles and practices as they relate to all aspects of civil engineering and the use of such tools and devices common to the engineering profession (i.e. GPS Devices, CAD Software and basic MS-Word and Excel programs).

 

 This position requires:

  2. Conduct the development of drawings through the use of CAD software
