Zia design professionals have extensive experience in the development of formal design and construction packages (with formal bid and construction documents). Zia personnel have training in construction management of both large and complex projects and provide extensive knowledge of the regulatory compliance requirements associated with various design projects. Zia understands our client's design needs are often impacted by interagency regulations and stakeholder concerns. Zia members have extensive experience in formal and informal presentation of projects to various regulatory agencies, public boards, institutions, and other interested parties.
Zia design capabilities are supported with in-house state of the industry computer
aided design and survey software. Zia develops GIS mapping allowing Zia to cost-effectively
develop a base mapping system utilizing existing data and drawings and/or supplementing
this information with Zia-collected field GPS information. Zia's attention to detail
in mapping allows for complete and accurate as-built system information overlain
with existing roadway and aerial photographic data from satellite imagery database
sources. Zia's design construction packages are very thorough and rarely do contractors
require design clarifications.

Zia engineers are experienced in the development of construction cost estimation and cost data is supplemented by a library of actual costs from local and regional bids for various project types (DOT and municipal). Our construction engineering personnel provide continual feedback to the design groups on changes in the bidding and estimating climate. Data is continually updated to reflect current costs.
Zia has multiple staff in each office who can provide construction phase support including bid documents development, bid phase assistance (including review and tabulation of bids), developing formal quantity take-offs, invoice reviews, job tracking and providing review and recommendations regarding equipment and bid alternatives.
