Zia offers a unique complement of civil engineering and environmental development services. We assist communities in meeting waste reduction/recycling objectives (50% National Goal). We strongly support the National Recycling Coalition (www.nrc-recycle.org) and the New Mexico Recycling Coalition (www.recyclenewmexico.org) mission, as well as many other states and federal recycling goals, to expand available recycling opportunities, increase the financial resources to support recycling, and improve recycling rates.
Zia’s solid waste management and waste reduction / recycling background cover developments over the last 30 years. We have worked with a diverse range of public and private sector clients in evaluating program options and preparing realistic action plans. Zia offers an objective perspective that is not influenced by the prospect of potential benefits, financial or otherwise, derived from our analysis or recommendations. Assessments and conclusions are based on factors specific to your circumstances and applicable experience from similar situations. Regular communication with the client is a priority at Zia so that projects are not disrupted by unanticipated events. In assisting with decision – making we have often made presentations that explain technical material in easily understandable terms.
Zia strives to produce energy efficient designs, and incorporates recycled/recovered materials into our specifications wherever appropriate. To this end, Zia’s professionals include individuals who are specialists in the areas of solid waste management, recycling and waste reduction and reuse. In addition, several of the team members have formal experience in the development and implementation of pollution prevention programs for federal facilities.
Zia’s environmental scientists and engineers are very knowledgeable in the application of sustainable design principles, meeting present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Zia conducts numerous studies on waste reduction, recycling, and pollution prevention. Zia utilizes alternative methods to waste reduction and incorporates energy efficient design features in new and rehabilitated facilities.
