Zia provides professional surveying services throughout New Mexico. Our professional survey team is experienced in all phases of land surveying and can quickly provide surveys on any site, (remote or not) for GPS surveys, large boundary surveys, ALTA/ACSM surveys, design and construction surveys and can provide any project with latitude, longitude and any variety of coordinate bases (NAD27, NAD83, State Plane, local grid, UTM, etc.).
Zia has the complete capability to develop and utilize full scale graphics and mapping. We are highly experienced in full integration and utilization of ESRI products (ArcView, ArcGIS,) as well as AutoCAD and similar design systems. We are regularly required to integrate and migrate data between ArcView and AutoCAD and thus, have such knowledge and expertise. All environmental data and systems are compiled and maintained in GIS database programs, and mapping for such efforts is produced in ArcView. All design efforts are completed in AutoCAD with base mapping (topography, etc.) typically incorporating GIS data. Zia maintains appropriate ESRI and AutoCAD licensing (latest versions).
The Zia Team regularly uses GIS and satellite imagery as applicable to meet project needs. This includes development of sophisticated GIS based mapping in UTM coordinate formats and collection of all field data with appropriate coordinates for incorporation into GIS databases. Ongoing maintenance of GIS databases with multiple layered imagery and labeling for quick and easy retrieval of data for reports and compliance efforts is implemented. We are currently maintaining and uploading data into GIS databases for all environmental compliance needs at White Sands Missile Range including well and sample locations, natural and cultural resource areas solid waste management units and munitions sites. These systems include searchable query components to allow easy retrieval of required data. All information is currently developed with ArcView and other latest versions of similar ESRI software programs.
Zia's field staff (environmental technicians, cultural and biological field staff and survey field technicians) is experienced in and has full capabilities to obtain required field data using handheld three-meter accuracy units, sub-meter accuracy backpack systems and, through our survey group, full first order accuracy (0.1 foot) using GIS survey equipment.
